The following video pretty much sums up what our household looks like on a daily basis: lots of confusing action, dancing, singing, inappropriate Disney references, and an all-out effort to embarrass the 15 year old. At least in THIS video, there’s no gratuitous nudity, so count your blessings (or rue the day, whichever is more relevant to your personal wants and needs).

We are big fans of Beyonce in our house, and invariably, this means that we shake our booty in a VERY klutzy and embarrassing fashion. Not embarrassing for US, mind you. We’re talking about the kids. Literally, they are horrified when when we start doing our groove thing, especially when Dean decides not to wear pants.

We’re not talking completely pantsless. He DOES wear underpants. We have to keep some dignity around here.

Anywho, the following video is a typical evening in our home: loud music, booty-shaking, making the kids cringe. Enjoy!

This weekend we went up to Seattle to celebrate one of our oldest friend’s 40th birthdays. We’ve both known Jared since gosh, middle school? I feel old. Anyway, it was fun, especially since he and his gorgeous wife have seven – yes, SEVEN – kids, and with our kids and the other ragamuffins running around there was like a BILLION KIDS. Which, I have to admit, was both fun and terrifying at the same time, and if I had seven kids under the age of 12 I would probably end up in the bathroom drinking Mama’s Special Juicy Juice half the day, if you know what I mean. I don’t know how they do it.

Of course, we got to play with the baby. James especially liked that baby:

I'm tired of these antics and shall move on to the next thing now.

If you come over to our house, you might hear one of the following phrases:

1) “Put your pants on before you eat breakfast.”

2) “Do you WANT your teeth to fall out?”

3) “The cats aren’t bugging you. They love you. THEY LOVE YOU.”

4) “Don’t eat that. No, really, don’t eat that. I can’t believe you just ate that.”

5) “Yes, you do too have to put your pants on.”

Yes, I noticed there are two pants-related entries in this list. Which is both illuminating and embarrassing.
